Stroke/Exchange Judge Training

Judging is one of the best volunteer positions! With 4 shifts each Saturday (they are short!), and the best spot to view the meet, it is an awesome volunteer role. That being said, we know it can be intimidating and are incredibly grateful for your willingness to volunteer as meets cannot run without judges.

In order to volunteer as a judge, is some training required. The training session should take less than 20 minutes and will be led by Sarah Karvenz and/or Margit Dennon. One, or both of them, will be available to answer questions after the training session. If you are unable to attend one of the below listed trainings but would like to be trained, please contact us and we can set up another time. Both of us can be available during practices or even prior to meets to do a short training. If you have been trained during a previous season, please let one of them know by contacting them at:

The training times currently scheduled are:

  • Monday, May 6th @ 5:45pm
  • Monday, May 6th @ 6:45pm
  • Tuesday, May 7th @ 4:15pm
  • Thursday, May 9th during the 10U Time Trial meet

In addition, please review the short training videos by clicking HERE (~20 minutes) and review the PPT from the circuit for Exchange, Stroke and Turn Judges by clicking HERE. Please review this content prior to attending a training session. This will help keep the in person training short, with a focus on how the job runs, with a short refresher on the stroke rules and time for questions.

Thanks so much for your interest and GO MARLINS!
