2025 LAP-A-THON DETAILS
What: Lap-a-thon is our annual fundraiser where swimmers are challenged to swim as many laps as possible to raise donations that keep our amazing team running. Did you know that the Marlins swim team is a 501c3 non-profit?! That means that we count on our amazing sponsors and donations from events like this to help keep registration fees down, maintain our great location, and the best coaches in the league!
When: TBD
How: How do you get donations? There are two popular ways swimmers can ask for donations from family and friends:
- A flat rate donation where people can choose any amount they would like to contribute.
- Amount per lap donations. This is a great way for swimmers to challenge themselves and have fun!
Here are some lap goals so you can let people know just how hard you are going to work for their donations:
- 6 & under - Up to 50 laps
- 7-8 yrs - 75 laps
- 9yrs & up - 100 laps or more!
Where to donate: In 2024, we used the Fundrazr site for online donations. We also allowed cash/check donations. More to come on donation collections for our 2025 Lap-a-thon.
How can families help? In 2024, we asked families to help feed our hungry swimmers. We divvied what needed to be brought by last names. In addition, we needed volunteers to count laps for our swimmers. Anyone can volunteer! Siblings, big swimmers, grandparents and babysitters! We welcome any volunteers.
