IMPORTANT
The Marlins team policy requires that each family volunteer one shift, per child, per meet. For families with more than (2) children, no more than two shifts per family are required for each meet. If you are in need of an exception in advance to each meet, please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator Marguerite Hudson at 512-423-0518 or [email protected] or [email protected].
In order to sign-up to volunteer, you will need to complete two steps:
Step One - Pick Your Volunteer Role
Step 1: During registration you will specify the volunteer role you would prefer. From this preference, the volunteer coordinator will assign you a role sometime before the first practice which will be displayed in the My Accounts portion of the website.
We have two types of roles on the team; general roles such as timer, concessions, ribbons, etc. that we no longer preassign during the registration process, and specialized roles that either require a specialized background (i.e., stroke judges) or continuity from week to week (i.e., tent parent). During registration, you can either choose the "General" role or specify your preference for one or more specialized roles. If the specialized roles you request are full, you will be assigned the general role.
Step Two - Signing Up for Volunteer Shifts at Swim Meets
Step 2: In May, typically after practices have started, we will open the schedule for you to sign up your swimmers for the meets they will attend, and to pick your corresponding volunteer roles and shifts. If you are assigned to the "General Volunteer" role, you can pick from the available jobs and shifts. If you are assigned a specialized role, you will still need to designate which meets you will attend and many specialized roles also require designating a shift.
Please go to Meet Info on the website to complete this step. When you see the green "Open" oval, you are free to signup.
